BenQ, provider of visual display solutions, is bringing the golf driving range and the home theater experience together to create an immersive golf simulation and home theater in one space with its family of BlueCore laser golf simulator projectors—4K LK953ST and WUXGA LU935ST

“Putting in a projector solely to be used for golf simulation isn’t always a feasible option for homeowners needing to make the most of their home’s limited square footage, entertainment space, and budget, which is why a SimTheater is a great option,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ America Corp. “However, in order to achieve both an immersive golf experience and replicate the box-office movie quality, color accuracy is critical. We leveraged our decades of expertise that make our laser home theater projectors and eSports monitors best sellers to create a new generation of projectors that satisfy golf enthusiasts and golden eyes alike.”

Following the LK953ST’s popularity, and in response to the increasing interest for affordable home golf simulator technology, BenQ built the 5500-lumen LU935ST specifically for golfers who are doing more golfing off-course than on the actual fairways. Both projectors utilize the same 92% Rec. 709 color space coverage and Texas Instruments’ DLP chip technology to deliver long-lasting color accuracy for golf simulators or movie-watching in up to 4K resolution for up to 20,000 hours of operation.

“Well-suited” for the new “SimTheater” and with 5,000 lumens or more, BenQ’s Blue Core laser golf simulator projectors ensure that the high-speed cameras used in golf simulation launch monitors are not at odds with the necessary light needed in the room to photograph and analyze hits. It also ensures that the software graphics or movies never appear washed out. The built-in short-throw lens eliminates the need for add-on lenses, while allowing the projector to be mounted out of the swing zone and closer to the screen without casting a shadow. The projectors’ IP5X-rated sealed engine is fully protected in even the most dust-prone environments, such as garages and basements.
