Nortek Control has launched the 2GIG® EDGE™ Security and Automation Panel, with, reportedly, the industry’s first secure face recognition touchless disarm. The 2GIG EDGE Security and Automation Panel, which was named CTA 2021 Security and Surveillance Product of the Year Mark of Excellence Award, was developed to be the “center of today’s smart home, making it compatible with a broad array of home technologies and products,” Nortek explained. The company reports that it has made the panel “seamless” to connect to other cameras in and around the home while also providing the ability to view video “in real time from up to eight different camera feeds.”
Home Automation giant, Crestron Electronics, and loudspeaker/electronics manufacturer, Origin Acoustics, have partnered to produce a line of in-wall, in-ceiling, and landscape speakers. There are two distinct performance tiers that distinguish the new line of Crestron Speakers made by Origin Acoustics: Reference and Ultimate. Crestron also is introducing the DM NAX™ matrix/amplifier and streaming music player for high-performance audio-over-IP and native integration with Crestron Home™.
DoorBird, the IP video door intercoms from Berlin, Germany-based Bird Home Automation Group, and Control4, manufacturer of smart home automation systems, have partnered. Control4 has certified the DoorBird driver, allowing for the company’s IP door stations to be integrated into Control4 systems.
Access Networks’ Hagai Feiner has stepped down as CEO. He is succeeded by Bryce Nordstrand, who previously held the role of Chief Sales Officer. Feiner says Nordstrand has bold plans for the company’s future and shows strong leadership. Ben Jurow has been promoted to Vice President of Sales, after holding several sales leaderships roles with the company. He will work with manufacturers and dealers while also contributing to the development of new networking solutions.
