CE industry retail veteran Michelle Troupe announces her departure after 27 years as Senior Buyer at high-end retailer Definitive Audio to join Boeing. Her new role as Buyer at Boeing’s IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) department is where she will buy the hardlines of audio and video products for airlines, combining her consumer electronics experience into aerospace.

Michelle started at Definitive’s accounting department in 1994. She was promoted to Accounting Analyst, Procurement, and then worked her way up to Senior Buyer. Her leadership and strong industry relationships shined throughout the Covid-19 epidemic, as she faced the challenges of navigating purchasing and supply chain constraints with increased sales. She didn’t miss a beat. During this time, Dealerscope Magazine awarded Michelle as one of the Most Influential Buyers of 2020. She also earned a Certificate of Specialization in Leadership and Management online from Harvard Business School in 2022.

She has been active in the CE industry since 2000 and continues to be an Advisory Board Member for Women in Consumer Technologies. Michelle was the recipient of The Carol Campbell Inspirational Award from Women In Consumer Electronics in 2015. Michelle earned her BA in Communications from the University of Washington and is currently working on her master’s degree in Supply Chain Management.

Mark Ormiston, former CEO and Owner of Definitive Audio, shares; “I am proud and excited for Michelle’s next chapter at Boeing. She held a top leadership role at Definitive and was key to our growth and success. Michelle was one of my most loyal employees, more like family. I am rooting wholeheartedly from the sidelines.”
