Collaboration and innovation are on full display at CEDIA Expo 2023, especially in the home cinema design department. In an Expo-first, Seymour-Screen Excellence, StormAudio, Grimani Systems, and RowOne will unite to offer an 11.6.6 fully digital, networked, AES67 Audio-over-IP demonstration in Sound Room 10 for the duration of CEDIA Expo 2023.

The demo is intended to demonstrate the cutting-edge capabilities of networked Audio-over-IP technology, promote the innovation that comes with collaborative effort from experts, and offer opportunities to network with these leaders directly.

The CEDIA 2023 Demo Specifics

The demo will serve as a launchpad for StormAudio’s new ISP Evo 32-channel AoIP surround sound preamp/processor — the first all-digital immersive audio processor to reach the CEDIA channel — networked to a Grimani Systems 16,800-watts, 11.6.6 channel active loudspeaker system.

The combination of the sound preamp/processor and the loudspeaker systen from StormAudio and Grimani Systems, respectively, is a fully digital pathway that results in audio precision and clarity. This is also thanks to the utilization of an Ethernet cable, a network switch, and speaker cable for its audio connections. The simple and efficient setup eliminates common industry issues like ground-loop hum while allowing for advanced features such as remote setup, calibration, and monitoring.

A home entertainment demo would not be complete without an audio/video presentation. To maximize both audio and video performance, the demo will also showcase Seymour-Screen Excellence’s Enlightor-Neo 4K HDR immersive film screen surface and Adjustable Ratio Theater (ART) immersive 4-way masking system. The 13.5-ft wide screen is designed to impart no coloration to the sound of the speakers behind it. It is also attached to a state-of-the-art Barco Residential Njord Cinemascope 5K 3-Chip DLP projector, madVR Envy Extreme video processor, and high-performance TLD+ short-throw lens.

Attendees will get to soak in the immersive home entertainment demo by experiencing two luxurious seating designs from RowOne Seating, the 2023 CEPro 100 Bullet Brand recipient. In adherence to home cinema best practices with respect to audio and video design, the demo will feature two of Row One’s seats. The patent-pending low-back, zero-clearance power incliner, the Calveri, will be placed across the front row, and the contemporary styling of the Cortes power recliner and power headrest across the second row.

The Calveri by RowOne has a contemporary Italian design, low profile, innovative technology, and fabric options. It also incorporates two inventions that enhance the entertainment experience:

  • The PowerUpPort: a patent-pending low-voltage port. Its first application is a wireless dimmable LED reading lamp that can be adjusted in a variety of ways. When not in use, the PowerUpPort can be tucked away in the storage drawer.
  • A Pull-N-Store drawer (patent pending): integrated into the front face of the chair arm stores magazines, tablets, remotes, and the new LED reading lamp.

Throughout CEDIA Expo 2023, industry experts Chris Seymour and Evan Zerby (Seymour-Screen Excellence); Olivier Thumerel, Gary Blouse, and Matthew Trinklein (StormAudio); Anthony Grimani and Brett Bjorkquist (Grimani Systems), and Todd Girdis (RowOne) will be available to provide in-depth insights and engage with dealers, sales representatives, and any accompanying trades.
