Connected Design welcomes Giles Sutton, Interim Co-CEO at CEDIA, to its Brand Ambassador program. In his role, Sutton has led the transformation of CEDIA—the global trade association and central touch point for companies who design, manufacture and install technology for the home—toward embracing a focus on education, workforce development and industry standards. Sutton also facilitates strong industry partnerships among architects, builders and interior designers. Building awareness of the resource CEDIA members are to this group is a critical strategic objective of the association.

Prior to joining CEDIA, Sutton spent 13 years as managing director of an award-winning integration firm based in central London. Under his leadership, the company worked on projects across Europe for high-profile clientele and was featured prominently in industry press, as well as national publications.

Representing the industry, Sutton has spoken at numerous events, including CEDIA Expo, Design and Construction Week, Parks Associates Connections Summit, High Point Market and the AIA Conference on Architecture. He has also been a judge for the Sunday Times British Home Awards, Connected Design Awards, as well as the C&G Innovation in Design Awards, and has been interviewed on live television for the Today Show in Australia.

Sutton currently sits on the Board of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the largest AV systems integration show in the world; is a Steering Committee Member for the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA); and a member of the Forbes Business Council.

Sutton graduated with an Honors degree in Sound Technology from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), a higher education institution founded by Sir Paul McCartney. He is a CISCO Certified Customer Success Manager (CSM), as well as a CEDIA-Certified Outreach Instructor (COI) and Electronic Systems Designer (ESC-D), while currently working on a Master’s degree in Legal Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
