Sam Taylor, the recently retired Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) of Exertis Almo, has been honored as a 2023 rAVe Hall of Fame inductee. Known for his contributions to the Pro AV distribution industry, Taylor was recognized for his role in advancing the value-added distribution model. Following his retirement, he established the “Swim With Purpose” charitable fund, aiming to raise $1 million to restore a swimming facility at Kentucky State University (KSU) for the benefit of students and local YMCA members.

During his career, Taylor led over 250 employees and achieved annual revenues of approximately $1 billion at Exertis Almo. He also founded Almo Professional A/V, which became the industry’s largest Pro AV distributor. His innovative approach to value-added distribution included the establishment of AVIXA-trained sales teams and AV Managed Services, attracting manufacturers who had not considered distribution before.
