The Sonance, IPORT and James Loudspeaker business globally is guided by four pillars to focus the company’s direction:

Designed to Disappear: Sonance believes that technology should disappear into architecture. This simple philosophy continues to inspire everything they do. The Sonance hidden audio solutions deliver an even, balanced sound experience that is nothing short of magical, blending into and style, installation, or budget.

Authentic Partnership: Every day at their home base in San Clemente, CA, you will find passionate, immensely knowledgeable people forging some of the strongest relationships in the industry. From the Sonance customer-centric culture to their not-to-be-missed Studio Seminars, the Sonance family of brands aims to define what authentic partnership looks like. Connecting their strategy and products to their dealers, they help unlock the most value possible for their partners’ businesses.

A Heritage of Innovation: The history of the independently owned company is rooted in a deep knowledge of CI customers and construction. From high-performance, award-winning audio solutions, to unique TRUFIG mounting technology, to innovative IPORT products that hold, charge, protect, and connect tablets, customers rely on the Sonance culture of creativity to continue to push the boundaries of technology and design.

Making the World a Better Place: Sonance believes that they have a responsibility to use their business and resources as a force of good in the world, taking small but fundamentally important steps towards Making the World a Better Place.

In order to fully honor these foundational pillars, Sonance believes it is important to transition their current business model for the residential Canadian market from a distributor-based model to a direct model. “We greatly appreciate our long-standing relationship with Trends Electronics and thank them for their service over these many years.” Stated Jason Sloan, Chief Sales Officer for Sonance, James Loudspeaker, and IPORT.

Trends will continue to supply Sonance residential products to the Canadian market through the end of 2022. Beginning January 1st, 2023, Sonance, IPORT and James Loudspeaker residential products will be available exclusively through Sonance direct authorized dealer programs. Sonance will continue to service the commercial market in Canada through their Canadian partner, SC Media.

In transitioning the market, the family of brands believes it will better serve their Canadian customers through competitive programs, pricing, relationships, and products. “We pride ourselves on earning our customers’ business every day and look forward to having the opportunity to either continue, or to start to earn yours.” Sloan said of the brands’ business in Canada.

Authorized dealer signups will begin in the month of December 2022.
