Premium audio brand, Theory Audio Design, today, announced the appointment of highly-regarded audio industry executive and respected veteran, Marc Bertrand as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Theory Audio Design (Theory), and sister company to Pro Audio Technology (PRO).
Bertrand has over 25 years of experience building some of the audio industry’s most renowned and highly respected brands. His resumé includes fifteen years at Tannoy North America, eight years at TC Group Americas, and over five years at Canadian professional audio manufacturer, Adamson Systems Engineering (Adamson).
For 15 years Bertrand worked at Tannoy North America, where he quickly moved up the ranks to VP of Sales and ultimately, Managing Director where he played a key role in doubling the company’s revenue. Tannoy was acquired in 2001 by TC Group A/S. Then in 2009, the Americas operations were merged into TC Group Americas, where Bertrand was appointed the role of CEO overseeing all brands, strategies, and operations for Tannoy, Lab.gruppen, TC Electronic, TC-Helicon, Dynaudio Acoustics, Lake, and the distributed lines Audica, and Linn Residential Audio.
In 2017, Bertrand joined Adamson where he served in several roles, most recently as CEO. Bertrand’s progressive mindset and tactical approach to manufacturing and operations led to a surge of growth for Adamson.
Bertrand is regarded by industry associates, partners, and past colleagues as a very strong leader with a top-down focus on sales and serving customers.
“I couldn’t be more delighted to have Marc join the companies as COO” said Paul Hales, CEO of Theory and PRO. “We’re excited to have him lead our global Sales and Operations organizations. Marc’s broad experience and unimpeachable track record within the commercial, professional and consumer market segments fits perfectly with our vision for the Theory and PRO brands. We have big plans for both companies – including Theory Professional’s official launch into the commercial audio market at InfoComm 2023 – and we are confident we can achieve our strategic objectives with Marc at the helm.”
“There are several reasons I was attracted to Theory and PRO, said Bertrand. “I’ve always gravitated to the ideal of audio performance first and foremost, and this is an unshakeable core value of the companies. Combine that with a well-defined, focused, and elegant family of products – designed with passion and an uncompromising execution of fit and finish – and it was a no-brainer for me; they were speaking my language.
Bertrand adds, “At Theory and PRO, we’re a small but tight team, driven to create the best audio experiences in our market segments, and to build an organization that our global partners, staff and suppliers will be proud to be a part of.”
Theory’s product ecosystem is unique in that offers many of the performance qualities of professional audio products – effortless dynamics, high efficiency, and rugged durability – but with the sonic delicacy, detail, and resolution of the best high-end high-fidelity products. Add Theory’s intelligent full-system design approach, with automatically tailored loudspeaker DSP, and you get startling performance at tremendous value.
Theory Professional will address the premium audio niche head-on with a small stable of highly-refined, yet very high-utility loudspeakers, subwoofers, and amplified loudspeaker controllers that offer class-leading performance in every application – indoors and out. Theory Professional will officially launch at InfoComm 2023. Attendees are encouraged to visit booth #4989 and audio demo room W223A to experience the Theory difference.
